Sightseeing by the famous tram no. 2

Tram line nr. 2 of Budapest has been added in 2012 to the list of world's 10 most beautiful tram routes. In the National Geographic book Journeys of a lifetime this line got the prestigious 7th place in the top 10.

We take the tram along the Danube. Our first stop is at Kossuth Square in front of the Parliament. We continue our trip by tram to the Chain Bridge, from where we can shoot beautiful photos of the Buda side. Both Danube banks and the whole Panorama including the Buda castle and the Chain Bridge is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Our next stop is at the Elisabeth Bridge, which was named after Empress Sissi. We will also visit two modern landmark buildings in Pest: the National Theatre and the Palace of Arts. We head back towards the Great Market Hall by the tram, where we can gain insight into the "stomach of Budapest". A look at the Hungarian specialties in the hall and I'm sure no one gets away hungry!
